Ross Hill’s 2024 Pinnacle Series Cabernet Franc is one of those moments, showing exactly what happens when you don’t blend it away. A reminder of how much character is hidden in the parts we usually overlook. A clarity of fruit and a cool‑climate elegance that feels unmistakably Orange.

Starts off nicely with youthful, bright and fruitful aromatics leading the way. There’s a mix of red and dark fruits, some herbal notes and a gentle touch of aniseed. The palate is mid‑weight with red fruit freshness sitting alongside darker berry depth. Despite the 40% new oak, it integrates beautifully, supporting the fruit nicely rather than dominating. Balance is the key. There’s a lovely varietal fruit‑forward energy here. Vibrant, elegant and persistent with some fine tannins showing up on the impressive, long finish. Very drinkable now but plenty to suggest it will age gracefully over time.
