“If you stay consistent…, you can be successful for a long time.” This is part of a quote by Eliud Kipchoge, an extremely successful Ethiopian long-distance runner.
This Riesling seems to have been around for eons. When I bought this particular vintage, I tried to remember when I first tried it, and I discovered my first review of this wine was the 2015 way back in 2016 when I first started this blog but I’m pretty sure I was drinking this wine before then.
Reading that, and others since, consistency is this wines hallmark. This is the reason why it has been so successful, so popular and the epitome of Eden Valley Riesling for such a long, long time.
You know the story. Alright, here’s the good part. Let’s talk about the glass of Pewsey Vale 2025 that was in front of me.
Region: Eden Valley, SA Price: $28 Source: Retail purchase

In the glass, the 2025 Pewsey Vale Riesling is as clean, bright and pure as ever. Aromas of lime, lemon and green apple rise immediately. All delightfully familiar. The palate is a straight line of citrus. Lime juice, grapefruit and a little lemon sorbet, all carried by crisp, tame acidity that feels both refreshing and nicely structured for longevity. It’s tight, clean and precise, with gentle texture that Pewsey Vale seems to possess year after year. The finish is long, mouth-watering, and wonderfully dry. Consistency may be its hallmark, but it never feels predictable. Just reliably delicious.
